Trade is the capacity to buy, sell or exchange goods and services. While this may seem a simple thing anyone could do, it is not so – the setting of proper pricings or comparative valuations, as well as understanding competitive strategies and bargaining techniques are the very basis of trade, and are all learned skills which must be effectively combined to allow one to trade. Whether it be through the medium of an economic money market, or in direct barter for goods or services, where there is no trade, there is simply gifts and communal ownership and understandings. It is understandable, then, why some societies see trade as culturally bringing something to them, but also taking something away from them.
Trade is the gift of the myconids, but has spread across the world due to its power and usefulness. It has been adopted by humans, gnomes, minotaurs, goblins, ogres, dwarves, yuan-ti, and even orcs. Some kender do trade, but their understanding of trade is foreign to most other races. Thankfully, it really only takes one person gifted in trade to allow trading to occur.
