Naga are strange race of large snake-people with a human face, who come originally from the caves of the mesa steppes in central Manxiga. Though they live without limbs, they are quite capable of manipulating certain objects with their tails or mouths, and are quite intelligent. It is thought that they see themselves as a sort of overseer of the mesa steppes, and they keep watch over the various scant resources of their habitat. Whether this attitude begat their gift of economics, or the gift is what drives them to such meticulous interest in material welfare, they are blessed with the rather esoteric and nebulous gift. Their interests are wider than that, though, and it has been said that every naga has a personal interest in something akin to humans.
Naga have not ventured far out into mixed society, although some can be found in large cities. They are more aloof than most races, perhaps given their lack of limbs to allow them a more base interactivity. This shows in the gifts that have taken their interest : trade of course, but also faith, philosophy, literacy, law and administration, with a passing interest in magic. Paliyl is mostly their god, although some have fallen for Ra’a.
With their blessing in economics, naga are masters of calculating unintended consequences of economic activity, analysing statistical data, and having a general feel for the current and prospective material needs, wants and desires of people in markets.
